Dive on in with this ocean-themed play group! Through imaginative, hands-on activities, children will explore the wonders of the sea while building important early social, communication, and play skills.

This group will consist of themed activities including, the reading of The Three Little Fish and the Big, Bad, Shark, eating a beachy-snack, creating a jellyfish suncatcher and ocean sensory bottle to take home, and enjoy an ocean animal sensory bin as well as free play with kinetic sand.

Nursery Rhyme Time

Ages 3-5

Join us for a rhyme-tastic adventure where little learners can twinkle, tumble, and roll through their favorite nursery rhymes through songs and fingerplays!

Join us for art projects featuring classic nursery rhymes, engage in sensory exploration, learn songs and rhymes, and even have a tea party! Think all things… Humpty Dumpty, The Itsy Bitsy Spider, Mary and her Little Lamb, Old McDonald, and more.

Patriotic Picnic Pals

Ages 3-5

Get ready for a berry fun picnic adventure! Join us for a picnic on the lawn, just in time for the Fourth of July!

Little learners will ketchup with peers and relish in playful, red-white-and-blue activities. Children will read about a Fourth of July picnic, make and take their own painted firework display, munch on some watermelon, find and describe a variety of foods in the “salt and pepper” sensory bin, and get their groove on with a picnic song.

Camping Crew

Ages 3-5

Get ready for a s’more-tastic camping adventure!

Through guided games and group activities, children will practice sharing, turn-taking, following directions, and communicating with peers—all while having tree-mendous fun! Children will listen to the story "Pete the Cat Goes Camping", snack on a s’mores trail mix, make and take a campfire craft, create their own cabin with Lincoln Logs, and more.

Water Wonders

Ages 3-5

Splish splash, it’s time for a blast! This group is all about soaking up the sun and making a splash with friends with all things water.

Bring your towels and swimwear—let’s make a splash this summer! Join us to discover what sinks and floats and splash around in a kiddie pool and compare land vs water animals in the Orbee sensory bin, slip and slide under the sprinklers. Kids will enjoy a mini splash battle with water balloons-gentle, fun, and perfect for little hands to giggle, toss, and cool off! To finish off all the water fun, kids will enjoy a watermelon snack.

With stories and sillies and colors so bright, Dr. Seuss adventures are such a delight! From Cat in hats to Things that play, We’ll learn and laugh the Seuss-y way!

Out of this World

Blast off into an adventure among the stars!

This space-themed group invites children to explore planets, rockets, and galaxies. Young astronauts will listen to “Roaring Rockets”, fuel up on a snack inspired by the moon and the stars, make their very own cosmic creations of spaceships, and launch their own rockets.

Under Construction

Ages 3-5

Let’s get our hard hats on and get to work! This group is all things CONSTRUCTION!

Lots of hands-on play with trucks, diggers, tools and more! We will be building, digging, fixing, and exploring different materials. We’ll explore sensory bins for digging & loading trucks, make & take a construction craft, and play with construction tools!

The Green Thumbs

Ages 5-9

Kids, explore your green thumbs by planting your own take-home garden! 

Learn to mix your own soil mix and choose from herbs and flowers to plant a two-tiered herb/flower garden that you will take home.  We will also prepare foods using the herbs we plant, such as bruschetta, salsa and/or lavender lemonade.

Melody Makers

Ages 5-9

Explore your inner musician by jamming to various music genres  using a variety of instruments such as the keyboard, bongo drums, ukulele, slide whistles, kazoos and percussion instruments. 

We will also learn simple dances (e.g., the Electric Slide), create our own songs and complete a craft using everyday items and recyclables to make our own instruments.

Goal Getters Sports Camp

Ages 5-9

Hey sporty kids! Take your best shot at a variety of sports with this sports oriented group, including basketball, street hockey, golf, wiffle ball, badminton, beach volleyball and fishing. 

Channel your creative side by designing your own sport as a group using everyday household items. We will also have a take-home craft.

Summer Tea with My Mini Me

Ages 5-9

You and your favorite doll are cordially invited to a sparkling summer tea party with special refreshments for children and dolls will be served.

The tea party will be accompanied by themed stories, curated crafts, and fun in the sun games. Crafts will include friendship bracelets for children and their mini me, picture frames to commentate special summer memories, and more. Children will also teach their doll how to play in our sensory gym! Slides and swings, woo-hoo! Your child may bring their favorite stuffed animal in place of a doll. Children of all abilities are welcome.

Read & Rhyme

Entering grades 1-3

Series of 6-classes

Did your child complete Kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade this year? Do you have concerns about your child's phonemic awareness, reading fluency, and comprehension skills? Are you eager to get them more excited about reading? Do you want them to continue to cultivate their literacy skills while on summer break? Midwest Children's Therapy has the summer program for you!

What to expect: Your child will engage in a variety of literacy based activities and connect with high-interest fiction and nonfiction texts in a small group setting. Students will develop phonological awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, figurative language, and writing skills each session. Your children can expect to read, discuss, and respond to a variety of texts. Art and readers' theatre will also be incorporated in the program. Your child's individual progress will be monitored throughout the course of the program using a pretest, curriculum based assessments in each session, and a post test at the conclusion of the program. Miss Emma and Miss Cassandra will provide progress updates each week.
